Nearer Airport :
International Geneva Airport located approximately 60 km from Lausanne.
The airport is linked to Swiss and European train networks. The train is the faster and the more developed transportation in Switzerland.
The CFF train station of the airport is directly accessible through the Registration and Arrival levels. All the trains are stopping at the Geneva-Cornavin (centre) station.
The tickets can be bought at the distributors located in the station (CGF, Euro or credit cards), at the station desks or even on Ticket Shop CFF.
One way ticket Geneva-Lausanne costs approximately 20.00 CHF
A welcome desk for the congress participants shall be made available by the Local Organising Committee at the airport in Geneva and at the Train Station in Lausanne.
The persons shall be in charge to guide the participants respectively to the train for Lausanne and to the hotels and the congress venue.
The desks shall be operated the day prior the opening of the congress and the day of the opening.
Climate in Switzerland
Switzerland is small however it is a country with extremely varied reliefs: the temperatures and the climate conditions are very different from one region to the other.
On the “Plateau” (diagonal between the Leman Lake and the Constance Lake), there are not very different from the North Region of France (Paris). However, it is better to take a pullover as soon as you travel to the Alps or even in the Jura. The Tessin, only territory in South Alps, benefit of a Mediterranean climate.
